We are a student-led initiative at the UC Riverside School of Medicine dedicated to bridging regional health disparities across the Inland Empire through hands-on emergency training, health literacy outreach, and community empowerment.

The Inland Empire faces unique healthcare challenges, including limited access to emergency medical services and lower baseline health literacy in underserved neighborhoods. The MEEP SOM Chapter works to address these inequities by empowering local youth and residents to become confident first responders before professional help arrives.

Balancing medical school coursework with community engagement can be tough, which is why our chapter is structured for maximum flexibility. Whether you can volunteer once a semester or want to join our executive leadership, there is a role for you:
Community Educator: Lead interactive emergency workshops at local schools.
AHA BLS Instructor: Teach certified CPR courses and earn flexible income.
Chapter Executive Team: Oversee curriculum design, school partnerships, and advocacy initiatives.
